In commemoration of cervical awareness month January 2023, a program was held for cervical cancer awareness at Conference hall, JNIMS on 21st January, 2023. The programme was organised by Gyne-Oncology unit under ISCCP banner in collaboration with Imphal Obstetrics and Gynaecological society (IOGS) and FOGSI and Department of Radiation Oncology JNIMS. The Medical superintendent, Dr Lokeshwar Singh, Professor and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, Dr Netajini graced the function. It was attended by Doctors, nurses and non teaching staff of JNIMS. The program started with pre session questionnaires assessing KAP on cancer cervix. Dr Purnima, Assistant professor of Radiation Oncology talked about cervical cancer and its incidence in Manipur, India, worldwide and treatment options. Dr Nirpendra, Senior resident, Radiation Oncology spoke on various screening modalities available for cervical cancer. Dr Helen, Professor,Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, In-charge Gyneoncology Unit spoke on vaccination. There were 90 attendants excluding faculties and volunteers. There were various questions from attendees at the end and announcement was made for such program on 8th march that would include breast cancer screening also. There were enthusiastic responses and the program concluded with post session questionnaires followed by tea and snacks.
